The Governor signs a proclamation declaring it Idaho Non-Profit organization week in Idaho.

The Governor poses with individuals representing various Idaho Non-Profit organizations. During the proclamation signing Governor Otter lauded them for their civic-minded service to the people of Idaho.

After the proclamation signing, Governor Otter responds to a question posed by reporter Betsy Russell of the Spokesman Review newspaper.

The Governor and First Lady spend some time reading to first graders at Holy Rosary Elementary in Idaho Falls. The Governor and First Lady’s visit coincided with the “Book It” reading program sponsored by Pizza Hut. That program gives schools a chance of winning a $2,000 grant that would help bring a children’s book author to their school.

Kuwaiti Trade Delegation  November 20, 2008

Governor Otter and American Ecology Corporation welcomed a distinguished delegation from the Kuwait Oil Company and the Kuwait Institute for Scientific Research to Idaho on November 20. The Boise-based American Ecology and its partners MKM and PIKA International provided specialized training in state-of-the-art management of hazardous waste and naturally occurring radioactive materials to the delegation, who are making plans for the safe management of such materials within Kuwait.

Boise Rescue Mission  November 26, 2008
The Governor and First Lady serve guests at the Boise Rescue Mission the day before Thanksgiving.
Mark Johnson of KTVB Channel Seven served food with the First Lady and sang along with the Governor at the Boise Rescue Mission.
The Governor played his guitar and sang for those dining at the Boise Rescue Mission. He also took song requests from the audience.
