The Governor and Superintendent Tom Luna pose with some of the winners and some of the students taught by this year’s recipients of the Giants Awards held recently at the Discovery Center in Boise.  (The Giants award stands for  the Governor’s Industry Award for Notable Teaching in Science)
 
The award recipients were Salvatore Lorenzen, Post Falls High School; Daniel Richards, Meadow Valley Schools; Tricia Huckins, Vision Charter School (Caldwell).
Individuals receiving Honorable Mentions: DaNel Huggins, Kuna High School; Susan Kirking; Jenifer Junior High School (Lewiston); TESLA team at Orchards Elementary School (Lewiston); and NASA team from Kenneth J. Carberry Intermediate School (Emmett).

The Governor delivers a morning breakfast speech addressing the economy to local business leaders. The event was held in the Linen District in Boise and was sponsored by the Idaho Business Review, KBOI Radio, and Northwest Nazarene University.
